A journey Through Art

A journey Through Art — board

In the heart of the desert, in one of the most beautiful oases ever, In Siwa, where nature meets history, and architecture is closer to earth.

Dwellings are predominantly made of Kershif (a mixture of mud and straw) and fences, furniture, and canopies are made from palm fronds, setting for a simple and sensitive life whose existence is immersed in a prodigious nature. Here, where architecture and every human act must reflect the emotions of the space.

The design approach is characterized by a maximum adaptation of the site, and immersion in the landscape through an indoor-outdoor journey that reflects the essence of harmonizing with nature, history, and art, and through multi-leveled platforms resembling Siwa's mountains shaping the spaces. This approach not only adds layers of meaning to the project but also contributes to the preservation and celebration of Siwa's history.

The design proposed a sensitive yet strong intervention that takes the ruins and their distribution through the site as a guide to creating the project, this intervention not only creates performance spaces and exhibitions but also considers the site as a part of the exhibited art.
